Experience how CivicTechWR is driving local impact through technology at our Project Showcase on August 26! Mark your calendars for some networking, live demos, and collaborative sessions with local organizations. All are welcome to join us! Light food and refreshments available. Pay-what-you-can at the door. Agenda 🍕 6:00 – 6:30 | Doors Open & Networking Grab some food, meet fellow attendees, and get to know our vibrant community. 👋 6:30 – 6:40 | Welcome We'll kick off with an introduction to what we do at CivicTechWR and a look back at what we've been up to this year. 📣 6:40 – 7:10 | Project Showcase We’ll be showcasing our work on the following projects: Eviction Prevention - Improving the Social Development Centre's case management system for tenants at risk of eviction Accessible Housing Bridge - Helping tenants find accessible units LoMo - Building calm, consent-based infrastructure that makes it easier to ask for and offer help without pressure, rage, or performance. Waterloo Region Votes - Fostering voter engagement by helping voters cast more informed votes for the 2026 municipal election. Each group will have 10 minutes to explain the problem they're tackling, demo their solution, and take audience questions. 💡 7:10 – 7:30 | Q&A Breakouts Dive a little deeper into the project of your choice in CTWR's typical breakout fashion. Participants can ask questions, observe, or join the discussion to add value. 🎉 7:30 onwards | Afterparty! Stick around for snacks and good vibes as we celebrate our work and connections made.
What is CivicTechWR? CivicTechWR brings together people from different sectors and industries to actively solve issues facing our local community. We welcome people with all types and levels of skills. Even though "tech" is in the name, everyone is welcome and everyone has a skill or experience that is valuable. We're here to empower people to work together, exchange ideas and tools to improve the lives of the residents in and around Waterloo Region through civic technology.
