How People Actually Leap Industries

"Just do it" is what everyone tells you, and it stops being useful the moment you sit down on a Monday and get bit nervous about uncertainties.

The part nobody hands over is the sequence.

>> Which parts of your current job count as real experience somewhere else, and which parts get politely ignored no matter how good you are at them.

>> Whether you're actually short a skill or just short of confidence, and how to tell the difference.

>> Who to tell that you're looking, and what to say so that they repeat it to someone else on your behalf.

Three people who moved into new and emerging tech from somewhere else will walk through their own sequence in small groups, with enough room for you to interrupt and ask the question you'd normally save for a beer afterwards. Nobody is giving a talk.

What we'll get into

Transferable skills: what actually travels between industries, and what you have to rebuild from scratch.

Honest self-assessment: how to read your own mindset and skillset against a job you haven't done yet.

Social capital: how to get your network working on your behalf, so that your name comes up in rooms you're not in.

How the morning runs

Open-space discussion, calculated rather than be left to drift. You'll rotate through small groups, and each one ends on a framework you can take home and use on your own situation.

Who's sharing

Tin Ly, brand, FMCG to Web3. Seven years building brands at Unilever before moving to brand and comms strategy at Ninety Eight; now working as a fractional marketing manager and building CraftStack.

Minh Ho, business development, eCom to Web3. Sales at Moteefe, then five years as Head of BD at Ninety Eight, then the first APAC hire at 0x; now co-founder at Themis Labs and founder of CraftStack.

Hoang Nguyen, product and growth, fintech to Web3. Growth on credit and invest-tech products at MoMo, then product marketing on a non-custodial wallet at Ninety Eight.

Three functions, three entry points, one destination. We're most interested in where the routes overlap, because that overlap is the closest thing to a repeatable method any of us have found.

About CraftStack

CraftStack is a curated network of Vietnamese builders and founders shipping frontier tech.

open-workshop is where that conversation happens in a room, in front of everybody, instead of in a DM you had to be brave enough to send.

Changing industry is a lonely stretch, and it's shorter when you're doing it near people who are in the same stretch. You should leave with contacts you'll actually follow up with.

Note: Each successful participant will need to complete payment of one drink as venue fee! We guarantee that the take-away is worth more than a morning drink you're supposed to spend on elsewhere! ;)
