Discovering & Scaling Innovations in Built Environs

Interactions and talks with Startup Founders building tech and alternate materials for the Net Zero Transition of the Built Environs

The Emission Burden:

Globally, the built environment is responsible for 33% of greenhouse gas emissions, split between operational energy (75%) and embodied carbon in materials (25%).

India

The Heat is On: 95 of the world’s 100 hottest cities simultaneously, with temperatures peaking at an extreme 47°C.

The Cooling Shock: Space cooling already commands up to 70% of an Indian building’s total energy footprint.

The Ecological Toll: Beyond carbon, conventional construction methods are responsible for 30% of global biodiversity loss.

The Opportunity of the Century for India

The BAU Risk - A staggering 86% of the building stock India will require by 2070 has not yet been built.

The Economic Threat: Failing to future-proof our infrastructure risks a potential 24.7% GDP loss specifically for India by 2070.

The Innovation Imperative

We cannot resolve a crisis of this magnitude using legacy systems.

Deep structural changes are required to lower costs and accelerate systemic transitions. According to the IEA, 35% of the global CO2 emission reductions required through 2050 must come from clean technologies that are currently only at the demonstration or prototype stage. Innovation is not an alternative pathway—it is the foundational prerequisite to achieving a net-zero future.

About the Session

This session explores the critical pathways to reducing the Whole-Life Carbon of built environments. It brings together Startup Founders, innovators, developers, and sustainability leaders to showcase how breakthrough technologies for newer and greener building materials, Sustainable Cooling, Energy Efficiency, Water Circularity, BESS

Event Structure

Startup Pitches: A curated cohort of pioneering deep-tech climate startups will take us through their challenges, operational journeys, and key technical insights.

Q&A Session: An open, interactive panel discussion diving into the technology readiness levels (TRLs), financial structures, and implementation barriers of the pitched technologies.

Networking Session: An exclusive forum connecting real estate developers, policy architects, venture capital funds, and institutional facility managers to catalyze cross-sector collaboration and capital deployment.

A curated session with the different stakeholders in the Built Environs, as we look forward to hosting change makers, leaders and the strategists catalysing the Net Zero transition.

You're invited!
